John Hughes dead at 59...59!

Oy vey...John Hughes died suddenly of a heart attack while he was out for a walk! Tree branches falling on joggers, shootings at a fitness club. I'm beginning to think exercise is dangerous to your health!

Hughes gave us an era of great films...including this...

Somebody write them a movie

Yes...I know these two people are in the new Woody Allen movie Whatever Works.  But, it's not going to be enough for me.  Here are two actresses I want to see work together again.  There's something very Thelma And Louise about these two.  Both great actresses, both beautiful, both capable of the unexpected choice, both funny.

I'm not a great writer, but I'll give it a go if no one else will!  Or maybe someone out there will just hook them up with their own film?

In the meantime, check out Allen's very funny new "cartoon comedy" as he called it. I think that's code for classic Woody.

Whatever Works starring Evan Rachel Wood and Patricia Clarkson...oh yeah, and some other guys too...opens June 19th!

The Tony Awards last night reminded me why I love the theatre so much. And why I want back in!  Sob!  I'm working on a plan even as we speak.  

Also, Yay for the Billys! So cute these kids!  But, if you saw the play you know, these "kids" worked their butts off. That's why there are 3 Billys.  Because this show would kill a boy if he had to perform 8 shows a week!  Anyway...well deserved.

And Yay for Stephen Daldry! An Oscar nom and a Tony award for Best Director.....told you back in October. Couldn't happen to a nicer person. Billy Elliot also won the Tony for Best Play Musical.  And Neil Patrick Harris ruled the night.  Hugh Jackman is out!  Repeat after me...must keep NPH.
